Three-time AFCON champions, Nigeria are one of the favourites heading into the tournament, which starts in January.
The Super Eagles have been drawn in the tricky Group A alongside hosts Ivory Coast, plus Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
Jose Peseiro’s men will begin their campaign at the tournament against the Elephants of Equatorial Guinea on January 14 and four days later, they file out against the tournament host.
On January 22, Nigeria will play Guinea Bissau in their final group game as they are expected to progress to the knockout stage.
The Nigeria Football Federation has charged the boys to go for the title as the quest is themed ‘Let’s do it again’.
The last time the country won the continental trophy was in 2013, when Stephen Keshi led the Super Eagles to their third triumph, having previously won it in 1980 and 1994, GOAL reports.

She was captured the moment she received the items, including a Nigeria jersey, branded water bottle, and key holder. She showed appreciation after receiving the items and reiterated the AFCON 2023 theme: ‘Let’s do it again’.
Drogba speaks on Nigeria’s chances
Sports Brief also reported on Ivorian legend, Didier Drogba rating Nigeria’s chances at the 2023 AFCON as the Super Eagles face the host nation in the group stage.
Jose Peseiro’s side is tipped as one of the favourites to win the continental competition next year, but it will not be an easy ride for the West Africans in the group phase.
Speaking after the draw earlier this week, Drogba stated their AFCON pool would be a difficult group for both the Elephants and the Super Eagles to advance from.
