Morocco trying to beat Spain to World Cup remaining internet hosting rights

After beating them in the 2022 World Cup, Morocco will be looking to overcome Spain once again, this time in a bid to host the final of the 2030 World Cup.

North African country Morocco is looking to beat neighbouring Spain to the right to host the final match of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Morocco and Spain to co-host 2030 World Cup

Morocco, alongside Spain and Portugal, won the right to host the 2030 World Cup, but the location of the final is yet to be determined by FIFA.

Portugal will have three stadiums to choose from to host matches at the World Cup, while Morocco will have four to five venues, and Spain, with the most, will have 10 to 11 stadiums hosting World Cup matches.

Both Morocco and Spain are vying for the honour, with the North African country set to present a new stadium outside Casablanca to rival Spain’s biggest stadiums for the rights to host the final.

Morocco to rival Spain for 2030 World Cup final hosting rights

It is believed that Spain will consider either Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu or Barcelona’s Camp Nou to host the final, with the capital city being the likely final choice of the Europeans.

FIFA has stipulated that the stadium to host the final of the World Cup in 2030 should have at least an 80,000-sitting capacity, leaving the Spanish stadiums the most likely candidates to get the nod.

However, Morocco’s plan to erect a 113,000-capacity stadium could see them rival Spain, with the North Africans expected to complete renovations on a venue outside Casablanca, that should be ready by 2025 and could be used for the Africa Cup of Nations that year.,
