PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:

  1. Change sentences to simple future tense.
  2. Change past Continuous Tense to simple future tense.
  3. Understand the topic.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of course book.

Content of the lesson:

Simple Future Tense.

In our previous term, we have learnt Present tense, Past Tense and Present Continuous Tense. In this lesson we will be looking at Simple Future Tense. The Simple Future Tense shows an action that will take place later or in the future.

Shall is only used with ‘T’ and ‘We’

See examples below;

1. We shall be there tomorrow

2. I shall visit you next week.

3. If you don’t go now, you will miss the class

4. Our head master will be angry if we are late.

5. He will come here tomorrow.

Lesson plan on Social Studies

Presentation:

Step 1: Revise the previous topic

Step 2: Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Step 3: Introduce the new topic

Step 4: Arouse pupil’s interest on the new topic.

Lesson Evaluation:

Change the Past Continuous Tense of the verbs given in the bracket. 

  1. We saw our class teacher while we ___________ (were playing, are playing).
  2. Favour __________ (was playing, played) violin in the concert yesterday
  3. They _________ (were working, worked) in Abuja last week.
  4.  The little girl _________ (was playing, is playing) when I left the room
  5. It _______ (is raining, was raining) when I reached home.

Conclusion:

Teacher should make sure the pupils understand the topic.
